1998 CELS
Member Societies
CELS is grateful to the following professional
societies, which contributed their 1998
membership fees by May 15, 1998. Although
membership fees are accepted throughout the year,
May 15 denoted the last date for inclusion in the
printed form of this CELS monograph, Professional
Societies and the Faculty Scholar: Promoting
Scholarship and Learning in the Life Sciences.*
These professional societies are committed to
a shared vision for improving undergraduate
education in the life sciences. Their membership
fees enable CELS to speak with a coherent voice
as a national coalition of professional
societies, attract additional funds from other
sources, and respond in a timely way to special,
meritorious programs that are not prescribed in
grants. Although this was only the second
membership drive, CELS plans to solicit annual
memberships as long as CELS offers value toward
improving undergraduate education.
